Calling All Board Game Enthusiasts!

If you play board games and have played environmental or ecologically themed board games, researchers at the University of Oregon are hoping to gain insights regarding your thoughts and feelings about your experience of playing games.

The results of this study will contribute to the literature on board games as environmental science rhetoric and provide a representation of tabletop gamers’ perspectives in academic literature.

The following survey should take no more than twenty-five minutes to complete. It will ask questions about your experience of playing a board game with an environmental or ecological theme. You must be 18 years old or above to participate in this survey. Your participation in this study is voluntary. If you agree to take part in this research, the completion of the survey will be taken as agreement and voluntary consent for your responses to be used in this project. Your responses, once submitted, cannot be identified or withdrawn. Records for this survey will be maintained with utmost confidentiality.

As a token of our appreciation, we would like to send you a $5 Amazon gift card. To receive the gift cards, you will need to provide your preferred email address. Email IDs will be separated from the main dataset and stored in a password-protected hard drive with the PI and will only be used for gift card distributions.

If you have any questions or concerns about the study, please contact Waseq Rahman ([email protected]) and/or Maxwell Foxman ([email protected]).

An Institutional Review Board (“IRB”) is overseeing this research. An IRB is a group of people who perform independent review of research studies to ensure the rights and welfare of participants are protected. UO Research Compliance Services is the office that supports the IRB. If you have questions about your rights or wish to speak with someone other than the research team, you may contact:
